A lovely edition of this year's Aussie annual. Expect some highly cool, electrifying tracks all crumpled into one very dirty, sophisticating, luscious, and exuberant album. Approach to the starters, tip toe!
Disc One - Mixed by Hook N' Sling
01. Ou Est Le Swimming Pool - Jackson's Last Stand (Hook N' Sling Remix)
Not a track I would use to begin an album, but great remix provided by the mixer himself. / B+
02. Wynter Gordon - Dirty Talk (Laidback Luke Remix)
A more 'dirtier' version of Wynter's club banger. The dirty bit takes me awhile to grow into, since the sound is just all.. fart, fart, fart, fart. Stick to the roots of the song, will you? / B
03. Swedish House Mafia (not including Pharell) - One
Literally done with this song. Miami 2 Ibiza please offer! / C
04. Example - Kickstarts (Afrojack Remix)
Another 'dirty' remix of such a champ song. Usually I can agree with Afrojack's usage of filth, but in this mix, the thump in it was quite missing. / B-
05. Afrojack Feat. Eva Simons - Take Over Control
Like I said over the UK Annual, brilliant tune. / A
06. Hook N' Sling - Gotta Make A Move (Hook's VIP Mix)
Disappointed with the outcome of this remix. Why couldn't they add in the original? Far more juicer than this toned down version. / B-
07. Zoe Badwi - Freefallin' (Denzal Park Remix)
Yes! Zoe preach, preach! This song will fulfill your world. (Repeat button is a must!) / A+
08. Miami Horror - Sometimes (Hook N' Sling)
Another club anthem! That goobly glob effect during the chorus delivers! / A+
09. Laidback Luke feat. Jonathan Mendelsohn - Till Tonight
That kinky, heavy bass is all you need to look forward to. The vocals add nothing great to the song. / A
10. Flo Rida Feat. David Guetta - Club Can’t Handle Me (Ridney Vocal Mix)
Total club atmosphere this tune. Fat remix! / A+
11. Avicii & Sebastien Drums - My Feelings For You
Yes, I've had my time with this song already. Move along. / B-
12. Alex Gaudino - I’m In Love (Vocal Club Mix)
(Read Above) Still not sick of this tune, which redeems it having so much spark that I can't just leave it alone. / A
13. Nari & Milani And Cristian Marchi feat. Luciana - I Got My Eye On You (Cristian Marchi & Paolo Sandrini Perfect Remix)
Catchy hook, Luciana ceases to amaze me everytime. This tune will get you jumpin'. / A-
14. Vandalism - Vegas (Vandalism Club Mix)
This is one fiesty track. That tormenting sort of trumpet attack can be a bit too much sometimes. / B
15. Sgt Slick - Like This
Same ol', same ol'. / B-
16. Gorillaz - On Melancholy Hill (AN21 & Max Vangeli Mix)
This remix is heavenly. Total summer bliss of a track, too bad it's nearly winter. / A+
17. Axwell Feat. Erol Reid - Nothing But Love (Classic Mix)
You will chant and get extraordinarily brainwashed by this exuberant track. / A+
18. Dirty South feat. Rudy - Phazing
Fine track. But nothing else rather. / B
19. Ian Carey feat. Mandy Ventrice - Let Loose
Oh dear, Ian Carey jumps over the Guetta bandwagon. Best be lucky, because this track is FAT. / A
20. Martin Solveig & Dragonette - Hello
Works better here than it being surrounded by shitty tracks over 'Club'-land. I'll say this again, amazing. / A
21. Tensnake - Coma Cat
Great way to end a solid disc. Can I get, Can I get get? / A+
Overall, this disc was incredibly beast that it definitely needs recognition worldwide! MOS UK, take note!
Now off to Disc Two, which I'm dying to hear after hearing such an ear full of gasms.
Disc Two - Mixed By Tommy Trash
01. Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand
What else there is that needs to be said with this track? Genius on all angles. / A+
02. Uffie Feat. Pharell - ADD SUV (Armand Van Helden Remix)
I could never understand Uffie's speech of, whatever. This remix, however, is masterclass. / A+
03. Tommy Trash & Tom Piper - The Bum Song
Aussie's version of 'Americano'? Well, assuming 'Americano' was made by a couple of Aussie's, it's clear they know how to make such an incredibly wacky anthem! / A+
04. Yolanda Be Cool vs Dcup - We No Speak Americano
Speaking of Americano. / A+
05. Mark Ronson & The Business INTL - Bang Bang Bang (Count And Sinden Remix)
Lovely remix. The overuse of that remarkable synth is spot on. Just, spot on. / A
06. The Naked And Famous - Young Blood (Majik Johnson Remix)
Finally some funk! I've been waiting awhile if any of this will appear. / A+
07. Bag Raiders - Way Back Home (Sam La More Remix)
Smooth, slick and exhilarating. Cool track. / A
08. Tommy Trash & Tom Piper feat. Mr Wilson - All My Friends
Back to the nitty gritty of dirty house. Usually dirty house can be a bit tuneless and wacky, but this track, which made by Aussies, is probably why this track is unique. / A-
09. Miike Snow - Black & Blue (Bart B More Remix)
This is a prime example of wacky 'house'. / C-
10. The Aston Shuffle - Your Love
Quirky, unique, different. Three elements you need to master a clever a deep house track. / A+
11. WTF?! Feat. Dead Prez - It’s Bigger Than Hip Hop UK (Sidney Samson Remix)
Dutch murders a classic dubstep masterpiece. Horrid. / D
12. Ou Est Le Swimming Pool - Dance The Way I Feel (Armand Van Helden Edit)
This track has been out for a long while. Still classy. / A
13. The Potbelleez - Shake It (Tommy Trash Remix)
Alright. Nothing that grasps my attention. / B-
14. Steve Angello - KNAS
Oh dear, not this track again. / D
15. Calvin Harris - You Used To Hold Me (Laidback Luke Remix)
Heard this track over a year now, including this remix. As large as this remix is, I've outgrown into liking it. / B-
16. Felix Da Housecat - Three Anthem (Prydz Remix)
Mentioned my thoughts over the UK Annual. / B-
17. Tiesto Vs Diplo - C'Mon
More overatted tracks. / B-
18. The Subs - Kiss My Trance
Different. Very underground-y. / B
19. Armand Van Helden & Steve Aoki - Brrrat!
I thought the title had three A's not.. Oh whatever. Like I said, this track is a bit too wild for my senses. / B-
20. Congorock - Babylon (Steve Angello Edit)
More than ordinary. / A
21. The Chemical Brothers - Swoon (Boys Noize Summer Remix)
An excellent way to close such a party bonanza. Great job Tommy Trash. / A+
The second disc offers a strong selection of funk, witty, and unique house tracks, then tunnels down to the lesser known existence of mainstream to instrumental goods. Great overall.
Again, Ministry UK, y'all should take note with this album. This album is unquestionably the most enjoyable dance album I have ever faltered to. These two underrated and talented DJ's should take great credit of making such a class album.
